Blink and you'll miss it... follow the yelp tips to this spartan, immaculate, family start up where clean bright flavored Vietnamese food is the focus. Went for lunch based on yelp reviews and you all nailed it. First taste here was Hu Tieu Miss Saigon rice noodle Bowl, and spring rolls ... I'll be back! Friendly casual authentic. I expect to wait next time... is small and to have a following soon.

I have been here a few times the first day they opened, It was very good! I had the Pork and rice, it was so good I ate there 3 times in 1 day.

I LOVE this place!! For those of you who are timid...be not afraid! The owner (Van/Vincent) and his son (Ting-Yo) are so happy to explain to you how to eat the food and what sauces are used when traditionally enjoying their food. I've had quite a bit of Vietnamese food in my travels and this place is so fantastic. Small and cozy, clean, friendly, super prices, lots of variety. Just say yes and order the Banh Xeo (Vietnamese Pancake). It will blow.your.mind. If you are having an indecisive day try the Buhn dishes. They are vegetables with a bit of noodles, with or without meat, and salad. Deliciousness! Don't forget to add the sauce, it makes allllll the difference. The other reason I love this place? Vegetarian friendly! Just FYI they just added a bunch of desserts and plan on adding more to the menu. For a secret.... Van made me a special red tea when I had a sore throat and it was incredible how effective it was immediately! It's not on the menu so you have to ask for it. I shall loving call it, the "sore throat tea special."

This place is awesome! First time here and it's the best pho I've had in VA hands down. Broth delish, noodles just right and full of veggies. I'm in love with this soup!

Simple review here, tried eating here for the first time today. Never tried Vietnamese. Ordered a ribeye sandwich, was DELICIOUS and a VERY reasonable price. I will be visiting here often.

I thought the first time was good but this place has so many good dishes, it's blown me away. I feel like anything I order is going to be fantastic. It's like finding Pho in downtown Los Angeles but in Virginia Beach. A hidden jem for sure. Even my kids love their food and these little farts are picky eaters. Highly recommend if your looking for the best around town.

Time to get pho-reaky! First, let me thank my friend Juan for hooking me up with this place...he loves the Banh Mi (Vietnamese subs) so much, he went 3 times on his first day there--LOL. So, when you go in, take a seat anywhere. Van or his astute little helper Vincent will come and greet you. I like to start out with the freshly made lemonade, but in my most recent trip to Miss Saigon, Van introduced me to his crafty drink "The Hangover" which I greatly appreciated after a night full of wine. Next, you should definitely get the spring rolls that are filled with big shrimp, mint, basil, and the Van umph! My usual is Hu Tieu Miss Saigon (H1): rice noodle bowl filled with pork, big shrimp, quail egg, and mad yumminess. But, when I am ready to turn up the heat, Pho 5--Bun Bo Hue will set you on fire and it's a good burn too...loaded with brisket, meatloaf/meatball, peppers and flavored with a ham hock in every bowl. I also love the pork chop served up with rice or rice vermicelli, just the right amount crispy ginger sweetness--makes me want to pick it up and eat it with my fingers just so I can suck the sauce off --talk about finger-lickin' good! So, yeah, I am obviously their new favorite customer. Perfect for takeout too. FYI, no need to wait for the bill...just go and pay at the counter when you are done. See you there!

The food is always delicious! Service is always fast and the restaurant is clean. This place is comparible to other Pho restuarants. A must stop if you are ever by shore drive

I had a rather interesting visit to Miss Saigon last week. I was jonesing to go since I read so many good things about their sandwiches. Last week, I decided to make a lunchtime trek over to Shore Drive; it's not somewhere I frequently, however. The most interesting part of my visit was not the food, it was the young man behind the counter. He could not have been older the say 11 or 12 years, but this young man was all business, all the time. He was wearing a tie and vest and kept calling me 'sir'. I hate being called 'sir' by the way. He was very polite, though, and I appreciated his attention to both me as the customer and his job. I wish I could start a consulting business and take this young man to teach some of the other restaurant employees how to treat the customer. There are a few places, at least, that could use his help! I started with the Vietnamese pancake. Although I did takeout and it was a bit cold, it was OMG good! It came packed in two styroform containers - one with the pancake and with the aromatic herbs and sauce. It was loaded with meat and veggie and wrapped in, you guessed it, egg. I would order this one again. Hope next to eat it hot, though. The Vietnamese meatball sandwiches was not what I thought it would be. From the picutures on Yelp, I was sure that the meatballs were huge. Mine looked like they were squeezed from a potsticker wrapper - they were small and a bit flat. It was hard to determine how good they were because the bread and pickled vegetables overpowered them. I was a bit diasppointing, but I think I'll get over it. I want to give their banh mi another shoot. All in all, my visit went OK. The restaurant was empty but it took around 15 minutes for my order to come out; a bit longer than I expected, but I'm sure I'll give Miss Saigon another try soon.

Super clean and delicious family-run establishment. We had pho, bun bowl, spring rolls, and a banh mi and all were prepared well. For dessert we had purple yam ice cream (ube, for us Pinoys) - sweet ending to a yummy meal.

Very good broth and rolls. We ordered the BBQ pork rolls, number 1 and plain pho. Just with noodle and broth. It was very good but too pricey. A bowl of pho was about $10. The plain pho was only $5. We would go back again but not so often. We were the only people in there too so maybe if they lowered their prices then they would have more customers. The son was our server he was kind and polite but kept forgetting to bring us Lemons. Overall great pho just too pricey.

  • Marisa S.

I agree with David's review. The food was delicious! It would get a 5 by itself. But it could be cleaner. I too like to see clean tables/floors and bathrooms. That is why I gave it a 4. It is in a decent location. I am always driving by this area. I will definitely be back based on the food. Looking forward to trying something else on the menu. You should give it a try!

Oh yeah, Baby! Pho is in da' house! If they can maintain the consistency of the Pho broth that I had today then these folks have a real winner on their hands. Flavors were deep, rich and phenomenal. It didn't really need the Sriracha or the Hoisin sauce.

Great food! I get the pho almost every time and it's tasty. Big servings at a pretty good price. You won't leave hungry

Most people would not eat P6. But I dare say it was the best bowl of Pho I've had in years. Large portion. Didn't think I would finish, but the broth kept me going. Also, I felt that Pho 79 was good but the temperature was not to my liking. This place though... My god! Reminded me of eating Soba in Japan piping hot. Not burning of the tongue hot. But nice and hot that my stomach was nice and warm walking out. Very good feeling.

If you like Vietnamese food, this is your joint. Awesome food, awesome friendly staff, and great prices. Located conveniently on shore drive next to Kroger I go here often for lunch or to grab a bowl of Pho. I had never had a Vietnamese sandwich until I went here and I keep going back for more. Solid five stars here for this guy.

  • Craig S.

Wow. Easy to drive right by. Don't! Across parking lot from large Krogers. Friendly, family run business. When they ask if you are ok with spicy, answer truthfully. Large portion of pho (soup)- enough for two or three. Also had spring rolls. Yum yum

  • Joe A.

I like this place. Glad to see some cultural flavor in the Shore Drive neighborhood aside from the burger, fried fish/seafood places, and pizza places down towards Lynnhaven Bay. Any cold day (or hangover) requires a hot bowl of phò. Bahn Mi is a tasty alternative to the standard hoagie you'd get at a sub shop. And the other dishes are good all the time. Nestled in little place in a shopping plaza, I'm not all that concerned with the spartan decor. It's the pleasant service, friendly owner, and good eats that have me coming back. Take a chance and expand your palette.

I have eaten here twice now, and I'm a little embarrassed to say that I only went because my typical joint closed up shop. Manfriend and I decided to try it based on other yelp reviews, and it was a good call. His favorite is the P5, spicy pho with a lot of iterations of meat involved. I'm a wuss and don't really play spicy, so I don't get that. The first time I went I got a vermicelli dish with pork and shrimp. It was absolutely delicious; a big ol' bowl of deliciousness to stir together. The second time. I got a rice dish. They were out of broken rice, so I got the jasmine. It was topped with a fried egg, pork chop, and pork loaf of some description. Everything was cooked exactly deliciously. Crunchy, crispy, juicy, chewy...it was a symphony of Vietnamese excellence. Don't forget to try the A1, either. They have a lot of flavor and their dipping sauce is really complex and yummy tasting with plenty of those crunchy chopped peanuts. The best part of the whole experience, though, is Vincent. He's the owner's son and is absolutely a professional. He knows I'm a teacher, so every time he said my first name, he kind of giggled like he was getting away with something. Presently, manfriend and I are in a battle to see who'll tip him more. If you've never been, definitely go. DEFINITELY.

Today was my 3rd time trying this place. The first 2 times I carried out but this time I dined in. I was greeted by the owner's son who is very polite and professional young kid. I ordered Pho and sat down. In 10 mins he brought out a great big bowl of YUM!!! The flavoring of pho is hard describe but it is wonderful. I have taken a quick likening to it and will be a regular for sure. The place did look a little cluttered however the reason for that was because they got a shipment in off food and supplies. Other than that the dining room was clean and clear of any dirty tables or clutter.

Went to Miss Saigon Sandwich because of rave reviews here. I think all these great reviews are from the owner families or their friends themselves. We ordered two combination sandwiches. Both were missing pate and I even showed it to her by flipping the meats over to see there was no pate on our sandwiches. The owner replied to us was there was pate even though she saw with her own eyes there weren't any on both sandwiches. I thought she went back to kitchen either bringing out my missing pate or made new ones but no she went about her business. Her pork meat loaf or cha lua was thin as paper. Very cheap. Cha lua doesn't cost that much. My husband ordered pho because she said it was their specialty but it wasn't good at all. We tipped her $0.00 because of lousy service. What I hate the most is when owner can lie knowing it was their fault. At least she should apologize for their mistakes. This combination sandwich is $5.25 and where I live it is only $3.50-$4.00. There were only two real qualified people working there, herself and a helper in the kitchen. She has her 14-15 yrs old son and 10-11yrs old daughter bringing out the food.

Miss Saigon Sandwiches and Noodles There's a brand new Gem of Asia that just opened in the Kroger shopping area on Shore Drive in Virginia Beach. It's Miss Saigon Sandwitches and Noodles, next door to the UPS Store. As their name suggests, their main fair is indeed Noodles (with Broth and meat) and sandwiches.Their sandwiches are wonderful as are the Pho (pronounced 'fu' as in fun) which consists of Noodles with broth, thinly sliced brisket, tripe and tendon makes for a bowl of soup (Pho) large enough for two, served by a staff who are genuinely pleased to see the customer. (Rare these days). There are many more items on the menu, but I can't seem to get past the noodles, or the sandwiches. So, I just order both so I don't have to decide. I definitely recommend this new family run Vietnamese restaurant.

I came to this place on a lunch date with friends not expecting much but was extremely pleased. Everything tasted much fresher than I'm used to having at local pho places. The clear spring rolls (not sure what they're called) were awesome and the sauce that came with them was to die for. I ordered the P3 (beef brisket pho) and it was extremely comforting and filling. The broth is AMAZING. Service was attentive and friendly as well. Prices are the same as what you'd pay at any other pho place in the area. With it so close to my home, I'll definitely be returning.

This place never ceases to impress. The decor is simple, but it is clear that Van wants to focus on the food. I have been given the privilege of being invited to enjoy an off the menu/after hours meal with the owner a couple of times. Both times, it was a hugely memorable experience. This has also led to him offering other things that aren't on the menu, that he wants me to try and give my feedback. He is constantly improving and expanding his menu, and he wants to make sure it appeals to more than just the local Vietnamese population. He's also getting ready to add a breakfast menu for the weekend. I was invited for a Banh Mi breakfast, and let me tell you - it was AMAZING! I was invited for lunch the other day, and got to sample his next new menu item. If you haven't tried Miss Saigon yet, you're missing out. If you have - wait until you try the new menu items. I didn't think it could get better - but it has. He's getting more help after Thanksgiving, because he's hoping to cultivate more relationships like the one I have with him with all his customers. Once I know what I had for lunch is on the permanent menu - I'll post a picture of it. Oh, and if you have never had a Vietnamese sandwich - try the B7 or B8. You'll thank me later. It doesn't get any better than that.

Had the grilled chicken Banh Mi sandwich, it was awesome! The bread was soft and tasty and the fresh veggies and grilled chicken rounded out a great sandwich. However, I had them make me another sandwich after the first one had paté on it... No can do homeboy, no mystery spread for me! Also of note they had our waiter dressed up like Willy Wonka, which was awesome! This is a legit Vietnamese joint!

If you're looking for an authentic Vietnamese restaurant with excellent customer service, and at a great price, look no further. Seriously, I just got back from Vietnam and felt that Miss Saigon's food was totally on par. I have been coming here for more than a year and the food has progressively elevated. The volume, the presentation, and the taste are grade A. My fiancée and I get separate dishes and we are always picking at each others food because the variety is so enjoyable here. Highly recommend the Pho beef (on the side) and the Bun with grilled pork. The egg rolls are, personally, my favorite in Virginia Beach. The family owned atmosphere cannot be emphasized enough. This is a huge reason I keep coming back. The waiter is polite, engaging, and accommodating to all his guests. The place is spick and span. And to give you an idea of how personal they get, they know my order by memory, down to the detail of how I prefer it.

For a person that has lived in many different countries and has enjoyed a vast array of cuisines I am embarrassed to say that this was my first ever Vietnamese experience at Miss Saigon. When we lived in OV we definitely went by for a Pho and sandwich every week now we drop by when we get a chance and we know the broth is freshly made (VERY important). I love all of their Pho soups, I finish the entire bowl every time even though I was told by the owners son, Voo, that in Vietnam they only eat was in the soup and not the liquid. The sandwiches are also the bomb here! The bread is exactly the type I love crunchy on the outside and nice and spongy in the inside like a loaf of Greek "xhoriatiki" bread basically. The spices are on point, a lot of fresh vegetables and herbs which I really like to use when I cook at home myself. This is a family owned and run restaurant that uses traditional recipes from their village back in Vietnam so it is definitely a very authentic experience. I have had plenty of Pho in other restaurants since my first time here but no one can live up to the freshness and flavour at Miss Saigon. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because the broth is not freshly made everyday so if I feel like really having it and it's already 3-4 days old I just won't.

I stopped in here for lunch recently to take a break from my Pho 79 habit and with high hopes of ramping up my original three-star rating to a higher one. Unfortunately, and to much disappointment, my rating went in the opposite direction. It saddens me to write this follow-up review. This is a family run restaurant whose members are so very nice and gracious. Service is always friendly and accommodating. But with respect to what I ate that day, I have to be honest and stick to the facts. To begin, I ordered their Spring Rolls (Menu Item A-1) and their Pho Ga (Menu Item P-4). Their Spring Rolls themselves were pleasant enough, tender and flavorful, but not as memorable as they were during my previous visits. My main disappointment was with the peanut sauce, which was excessively thick and lacking in the delicacy of flavor and texture I enjoyed before. It tasted too much like melted peanut butter and nothing else. If any hoisin sauce was blended in, I was unable to detect it. My original review noted that only one size bowl of their Pho soups is available, which is their large size. This still happens to be the case. I prefer a smaller size serving, but they continue to serve their Pho in their one size only large bowl. The broth to my Pho Ga was extremely bland and weak in flavor. My original review had noted that the broths I tasted during my previous visits were also on the weak side. This time the weakness of their broth was more noticeable than before, once again delivering that "hot water" taste mentioned in my original review. In addition, the volume of the broth overwhelmed that of both the noodles and the chicken, resulting in a composition that was poorly and disproportionally out of balance. I had to consume too much of the broth before reaching the noodles and the chicken. There was a very scant presence of onions and scallions, which I enjoy in greater quantities with a bowl of Pho Ga. In their place were a conspicuous number of carrot slices floating about, which did not agree with me. For whatever reason, they left a lingering and unpleasant aftertaste in my mouth afterwards. Finally, my dish of condiments included only of two tiny single slices of jalapeno peppers. There were no bean sprouts and no basil leaves. Absolutely none. They also appeared to be understaffed that day. There was a row of tables that was not cleared off, remaining uncleaned, until the very end of my meal. This was an unpleasant eyesore. My server was busy enough, serving other customers diligently, but he could have used some help. Maybe I've been making the wrong selections when coming here. During a future visit, and I do promise to make one, maybe I will order one of their Bahn Mi sandwiches I've heard so much rave about or their Banh Xeo Vietnamese Pancake. There is also a new Duck Noodle Soup on their menu I would like to try. I like to support small family restaurants whenever possible. In the meantime, and with a spirit of personal support, I advise them strongly to please do whatever they can to improve the quality of the broths for their Pho and add a few more condiments to go with it.

Dear Miss Saigon Sandwiches & Noodles (Miss S): I've visited you twice now -once eating in and once to go- and I've ordered the same thing both times: B8 Bánh Mì Heo Nuong (grilled pork). You served me with a friendly smile and brought my food quickly. You were my first, Miss S! I was so excited to try Bánh Mì after hearing about it day-after-day on Yelp. I was worried it would be huge a letdown, but oh no--it was the opposite. That gorgeous, lightly toasted baguette spread with pâté, pickled carrots, fresh cucumber, jalapeños, cilantro, warm seasoned grilled pork...OMG! Every time I take a bite of that titillating sandwich, it makes me cry in ecstasy. I think I'm in love, Miss S. Would you move closer to my house? I miss you terribly when I start to get that itch. Why do I have to drive all the way to Virginia Beach in order to satisfy that craving? But, you know I will. I would do it just to see you and that exquisite B8. Fondly, Carissa

Eat here now! If you want good Vietnamese food, this is the place. Being Vietnamese, I will vouch for this place. Pho broth is great, spring rolls fresh, peanut sauce delish, Banh Mi is in point. No need to say anymore. Hands down best Viet spot in Va Beach.

  • Christie M.

We ordered and paid for 2 Cha lua sandwiches, 2 grilled pork sandwiches, 1 with egg and everything else in it sandwich, the toddy Palm with yam ice cream, B4 banana dessert thing that's green. What we received was 3 cha lua sandwiches and 2 pork sandwiches. 1 ice cream and the wrong banana dessert. Basically I over paid because these sandwiches not worth the same as the $9 egg sandwich. Food we did receive was very tasty but I don't think I'd make the effort to go again and order carry out. I wouldn't know if something was wrong until I get home. Also, I feel that it was really pricey for sandwiches. Maybe I'm just used to Chicago's prices for sandwiches.

I have only eaten here once with a large group. The service was good and the menu is extensive. We tried four different soups, the banh mi, and spring rolls. Everything was fresh and had good flavor, but our sandwiches were missing cilantro. I look forward to trying them out again.

  • Catherine P.

Dude! I've finally found a Vietnamese place I could throw my seal of approval on in Hampton Roads. Other places have been too salty, too sweet, or just garbage, but Miss Saigon is right on. This is authentic as it gets in Hampton Roads. As soon as that bowl of pho was put down in front of me, the fragrance wafting from the bowl, I was kicking it in Saigon again. My husband ordered the bun bo hue and I took a spoonful of the soup- legit, and the key flavors were all there, tasted like my mama made it. We both thought it needed more spice, but we're pretty sure the general public wouldn't be into that... I ordered pho tai and was pleased to see the meat was thin sliced, unlike other restaurants, where the meat looked like and tasted like an elephant's ear, and all too often, you spend way too much time trying to chew the meat your whole bowl of pho gets cold and your day is ruined. But no, not here. Thank you Miss Saigon, I've found my joint. Also, please stop playing Trish Thuy Trang (jk kind of).

Super fresh ingredients, friendly staff, clean casual environment. If you've got a healthy appetite the "bun" bowl(vermicelli noodle, fresh vegetables and your choice of meat, shrimp or both) is prob your best bet to not leave hungry. The food's out quickly too which is always a plus. Traditional silverware isn't on the table but is available upfront at your request for all of you who are not into chopsticks.

By now this place has become my absolute favorite place to visit in VA beach. The broths are authentic and the flavors are incredibly unique. Van( the owner) is not only involved with the costumers but the broths are actually his recipes. The food is carefully put together and the balance of flavors are like no other. I actually have to drive 5 miles to get there but it doesnt stop me from going a couple of times a week LOL! If you're new to vietnamese food, dont be intimidated Van will come to your rescue and introduce you into his world of amazing flavors :)

Absolutely awesome. I have been watching too much Travel Channel/Food Network especially shows on Asian food. I have been craving it, looking up recipes for good soups, etc. Today, much to my surprise, my wife agreed to try Miss Saigon. We split a beef soup and and a beef banh mi (sandwich). The bread was out of this world good, just the right amount, but not too much," toothiness". The pickled vegetables were perfect, crunchy, and just the right touch. The soup was seasoned well, but not too spicy; and enough to feed two! Our new go-to place with more on the menu to try!

A good friend introduced me to this place a while back since I was searching for good Vietnamese and had been very disappointed with all the other places I tried here. I'm a little spoiled, living in Hawaii, great Asian, Vietnamese, and Philippino cuisine is very easy to find. This place on shore drive rivals what I found in Hawaii. This is a family run business. The owner is always very very friendly, and his son is generally the only waiter and he is always extremely polite and attentive, his wife helps as well and also runs the nail salon next door. They both take great pride in their food and service.

The pho was among the best I've had. The broth had all of the flavors from all the spices you expect to be there. The service is quick and friendly... Definitely impressed by the young boy that runs the front of house. The pho portion was big! I couldn't finish it even though I really wanted to.

Hubby wanted some Vietnamese food for lunch before we headed back to Whole Foods and the ferry back to Cape May so we stopped by this restaurant. The space is clean and bright with 7 tables (3 larger tables and 4 - 4 tops). The restaurant got packed after we sat down but service did not suffer. Staff is friendly and service was good. For an appetizer, we ordered the grilled cured pork spring roll. Both the pork and dipping sauce (nuoc mam Cham aka fish sauce) were tasty. The items rolled along with the pork and vermicelli weren't traditional though (ice berg lettuce and pickled carrots/daikon). For our entrees, I initially wanted the roasted duck noodle soup, but they were out of roasted duck. It was only 11:30am. Interesting. So I opted for the duck stew noodle soup instead. The duck was tender, noodles had a good chew, and veggies cooked just right. It was quite flavorful and burn your tongue off piping hot which was great! I've never been to any asian noodle place where they served piping hot broth/soup. This is a plus in our book! Hubby ordered Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup) which he thought was alright. It definitely wasn't traditional bun Bo hue. It wasn't the right cuts of meat, type of noodles or broth. It was basically Pho broth mixed with fermented shrimp paste, lemongrass and chili sauce. This noodle dish usually comes with shredded cabbage and or bean sprouts and it didn't come with either one. The server said that they ran out of bean sprouts. Really? At 12pm on a Friday? Okay. The only positive about this dish was the raging hot broth. For dessert, the toddy Palm and purple yam ice cream caught my eye so I had to have it. This ice cream did not disappoint. Tasty and light. Yum. We also ordered 2 banh mi thit nguoi sandwiches togo for our ferry ride later. Will definitely post pics and comment on that later. Overall, I would probably just come back for the ice cream, if even that. There are tons of Vietnamese restaurants around town so I will be checking out those places before trying this place for a second time. This was also the most expensive vietnamese meal we've ever had. Update: we ate our banh mi's on the ferry ride back to Cape May. The sandwiches were delicious. I love the richness of the pate and the crunchy cartilage head cheese. After looking over our receipt, they charged us for the special (dac biet) which is more expensive than the cold cuts (thit nguoi). Smh. Make sure you check the bill before you pay!

Awesome, the duck pho was on point and very flavorful. I have yet to try the sandwiches but I will soon. I can sense coming back to this place often. I just hope a rainy day approaches so I can come indulge in some Duck pho again.

So all the pics looked like this place was going to be super yummy, and dont get me wrong it wasnt that it wasnt good, just I have had better. Maybe I should have had one of the sandwiches which are alittle different than other places. I went with the lemongrass chicken cause I love lemongrass anything and it was good. I also tried the cured pork spring rolls which were fantastic and I did prefer their fish sauce over other fish sauce I have tried. The service was great, the young man serving us was super polite and attentive. I will go back and try other things, sandwiches are next!

Delicious Vietnamese food run by a very sweet family. They have all the standard fare- Vietnamese sandwiches, pho, noodle bowls, rice plates, etc. I had the noodle bowl with grilled pork and egg roll and it was awesome. If you have room for dessert, try the banana cake with coconut milk.

I love this place! My favorite Vietnamese locally. P1 and the meatball sandwich are delicious! I also like their jackfruit smoothie and spring roll. I go here at least once a week. Lunch time between 12:30 and 2pm are their busiest and take longer to get your food but the wait is worth it if you have time and dont mind.

Amazing meal! Fresh ingredients, heaping portions and delicious flavors, all served by a very polite young waiter. We had the shredded chicken noodle soup, fried tofu vermicelli and salad, shredded chicken sandwich, and pork, shrimp and egg roll vermicelli salad. So glad we found this little gem through these reviews. We plan to visit again on our return trip!

OUTSTANDING Pho! The best we've had in the area (and in NoVa)! Highly recommend. The spring rolls with accompanied sauce are delightful! We will be back!

What a great little place and what a great family running it. I made the mistake of trying something new (avid pho lover) and when I had to hang my head in shame and tell our waiter I didn't like it he smiled and asked me what I'd like to replace it. Got myself a great bowl of pho and they even kid sized a bowl for my 7 year old pho loving daughter. We'll be back for sure! And thanks for taking care of my little guy...he loved his strawberry smoothie!

I've been here several times. I've really enjoyed the Bahn Mi baguette sandwiches and spring rolls. The business has a nice family-run feel. I was glad to see the place come into the neighborhood, and I'd really like them to succeed--hence the review. I especially like the textbooks on the shelf near the back--for the owner's kids I suspect--because there's a physics book in the stack. :-)

This restaurant is simply the best. This family owned restaurant seeks to remind those from Vietnam of their culinary tradition while educating those of us who have an appreciation for it. The owner has exposed us to new dishes and educated us on the traditional ways to eat these dishes. The food is easily the best I've had anywhere. I like the rice vermicelli dishes the best but the egg noodles are not to be missed.

I've been craving some good Vietnamese food since Pho Hung closed over the holidays, and from what I've been seeing from other Yelpers they've been talking about this spot. I finally got a chance to try it out for myself and I now I'm a happy fan. First thing's first, this place is nice - very nice. Not to knock Pho Hung and Jimmy but that spot was a dump. Albeit, that building already existed when Jimmy opened Pho Hung there, but it was a dingy spot. I didn't mind it because they kept it as clean as possible and they put out some awesome food. Van, the owner of Miss Saigon, put up a very nice spot that is seemingly clean in every corner. I can never complain about that and that just means I can sit back and relax. I got a vermicelli dish with egg rolls and pork, I believe. It was delicious and was prepared fairly quickly. To be fair when I came in there were no other customers but it's still nice to get your order quickly. But in regards to the food, it was delicious. I love a good rice vermicelli dish and this didn't disappoint. Also, as a standard order I did have the spring rolls. It was fantastic. As for the staff, they are as nice as the building they're in. They're so nice that Vann's son is on point when it comes to service. There was another Yelper who talked about Vann's son in his review and I'm proud to back up his assertion that many adults out there could learn a thing or two from him. I didn't actually see Vann's son the first time out because I went during school hours but I took my parents here the following week and he was up and at 'em. He rocked a shirt and tie, was very polite and even coached my mom on how to eat the dish she ordered. He follows after his dad because he, too, is very polite, is great at conversation and tutored me on how to eat my rice vermicelli dish. And just to make me feel old and dumb, Vann's son is only eleven and he can speak both English and Vietnamese. English is actually his second languge... yeesh, haha. I've been here twice in a week and I have nothing but good things to say about this establishment. My search for a new Vietnamese spot is now complete, and if they keep up the outstanding food quality with the top-notch service then they'll be around for awhile... and I'll be there enjoying my vermicelli. This was the first time I left a fair tip at a Pho restaurant! The food was AMAZING. I ordered a Lychee boba tea, pho dac biet, egg rolls, spring rolls, and a grilled lemongrass banh mi sandwich. I was sharing with my family, and everything was superb! Service was quick, food came out at a fair amount of time and prices were fair. My favorite part is the bread for the banh mi sandwich, unlike the "fake" vietnamese restaurants the bread makes this sandwich. It was soft, crispy, and yummy at the same time. I don't know if they make it fresh here but it tastes like it. They did not buy some random hoagie rolls from the super market and threw their product on it. Overall, my first visit was amazing. I will be returning!

I ordered the spicy beef noodle soup and it was pretty amazing. I eat pho all the time and this is definitely a good place to go. The staff was friendly and polite, especially the young gentleman with the bow tie.

Here is everything you need to know: 1. The place is impeccably clean. Like hospital grade clean. Like you can see your reflection in the floors. 2. The staff is absolutely some of the most friendly people you will ever interact with. They go out of their way to be courteous and operate with a typical Vietnamese efficiency that is perhaps only rivaled by the Swiss. 3. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT ONE. The food is INCREDIBLE! The (insert menu item here) is amazing. I have to say this is some of the freshest food you can get in Hampton Roads. All of this together makes for one of the best dining experiences I have had in HR. I go here over "fancier" or other restaurants all the time because it is simply put, a well done operation. I would recommend Miss Saigon restaurant whole heartedly every time.

I just got done eating the bun bo hue noodle soup. It's really flavorful, kinda spicy, and delicious. I'm surprised that I finally found a good pho place here in virginia beach. I'm from the west coast btw. The price here is more than I am used to but I'm satisfied with the authentic food served here. However, the spring rolls are a disappointment because they are very small compared to west coast standards (1 small piece of meat, 1 shrimp cut in half, 1 soft not crunchy piece of lettuce with noodles wrapped up in soft rice paper) ): Not fulfilling and I will only order it again if I can't help myself. Update: they added more noodles in the spring rolls. The grilled pork banh mi Sandwhich is good. The bun bo hue noodles is good as usual. I think they added too much msg in it tho:

I never knew Vietnamese food could taste so good. I have now tried this newer local restaurant a few times and have enjoyed several scrumptious dishes. This place has developed a great following in it's six months, or so since they opened which is a testament to the hard working owners who have been very pleasant on each occasion I dined in. Every visit I was quickly met with a smile from the owner. Today was no different and he remembered me from just coming in a few days ago with my wife and was disappointed she could not join me which was very sweet. My delicious appetizer of Spring Rolls came out quickly with my drink. I again ordered the Bahn Mi Ribeye since it really hit the spot, but I did order it less the spicy jalapeno peppers. The meal was very good, but again drink refills were slow to come which was disappointing. This all being said I do have concerns over cleanliness and clutter that has reduced my overall review 1 star. Since I have not seen this mentioned on other reviews I may be over critical, so please understand this is my opinion. However, on my last visit with my wife she understood areas of concern too. First, when you enter there is a nasty door mat that just needs to be tossed and really does not belong. The large brown 16 inch tiles on the floor is something you usually see in a commercial building, not a restaurant. Kept clean and polished they look drop dead gorgeous. However, on everyone of my visit's they have been dirty. On the visit with my wife they were tacky and in the bathroom downright sticky. On today's visit again dirty. This type of tile takes a lot of maintenance to polish it up nicely with the right material to clean. When going to pay I noticed the small sink they use up front was filthy. Another issue is clutter. I counted 35 boxes just adjacent to the dining room. Two large boxes were actually in the dining room next to tables customers were seated at. Another huge box was being used as a table behind the counter in front of the soda fountain. I am unsure if they have no storage in back, or they have too much inventory. Either way it's an eyesore to this customer and in my opinion should be addressed. All tables were completely clean and nicely prepared for customers. I hope to come back soon and enjoy another great meal. However, I also hope that it is cleaner with less clutter. I still want to meet the boy wonder Vincent.

Today (Sat Jan 18, 2014) I had the great fortune of visiting Miss Saigon again. I saw pics of Vietnamese Pancake that looked amazing on Yelp (Thanks Troy S. and Lilian R.) I was interested. After reading the Menu - "S1 Banh Xeo - Vietnamese Pancake -A pan fried rice crepe wrap filled with shrimp, pork, bean sprouts, onions, scallions. With green leaf wrap along with mint leaves and cilantro" I had to have it. It also came with those great pickled veggies. While I ordered a great friend on Yelp sent me a message to drench it in Nuoc Mam (I said what is that?) My friend replied - get messy with it. When Vincent brought my dish - it looked and smelled amazing. I asked if the sauce was Nuoc Mam and he said yes. Wee Ha!! Vincent also told me how to eat it - (he knew I'm a novice). Tear the crepe and and add the mint and veggies and wrap with the lettuce and dip in the sauce. - Wow - messy and most amazing flavors!! I'm hooked. Miss Saigon and Yelp friends helped me to have a most amazing meal today that I normally would not have ordered. Thanks. I can't wait to go back. (Don't postpone Joy - go to Miss Saigon and expand your horizons).

Yum is the word! We've been here twice now and the food was great both times. The 1st we both had a bowl filled with fresh veggies topped with beef and an amazing sauce, the 2nd time wife wated more of the same I opted for the pork meatball sandwich so yummy. Be sure and try the crushed peppers on the table if you like spice.

This place is one of my favorite restaurants in the town!!!! Actually I go Miss Saigon almost 3 to 5 times in a week... I love their noodle soups, sandwiches, and rice dishes. The menu #P5 is my favorite! And this restaurant is very clean and all the employees are very kind!

I can say that i'm a Pho Pho-natic. And yes... I eat Pho even in 90-110 degree weather. After eating at several Hampton Roads area Pho spots I gotta say this one is the best. It's a little far from my apt but worth the drive. Friendly mom & pop feel. Very nice and welcoming eating area. Broth is very flavorful. Generous portions. Great service. Went out of the norm and got the P6. A southern seafood mix with fish, shrimp, eggplant, lemongrass, bean sprouts. Simply Amazing!!

I need to first throw it out there that I am not a huge fan of Vietnamese food so I do not have a ton of experience with it. I love stopping by this lace for lunch though! The staff here is fantastic! They are all just so nice! Since I am not familiar with the cuisine, I always ask for suggestions. They haven't steered me wrong once! My favorite though is P1 for these chilly days that we have been having. It really hits the spot! The price is a little high for lunch in my opinion, but I usually have enough for leftovers either for dinner or lunch the next day. This has quickly become one of my favorite spots when I am feeling adventurous.

Thanks to Troy S for introducing me to this place. I actually wrote about them in The Weekly Yelp based on a stellar review that Cory S posted but given that I see so many businesses stopping by to try them out slipped my mind. High five to you both. It's a simple concept. You walk in, grab a seat, place your order and the food is on its way. On both occasions that I've been there it was a weekend so Vincent (who I will confidently guess is the owner's son) was there to wait on us. During our UYE the owner, Van, came out to greet us and we were all able to enjoy his hospitality and friendliness. He shared with us his story and how grateful he was for us to be there patronizing his business. Not too long after he surprised us all what he called some hangover juice. It was water with a lemon-sugary flavor to it. I really could have used that juice Sunday morning!!! Definitely start off with the spring rolls. Damn, those things are good. You really can't go wrong with any of the soups. The ultimate order I believe is the P5, Bum Bo Hue. It's spicy and full of heat. If you can't handle hot and spicy go for any of the other soups. I was joking around with Troy and the others in our group about how Vincent will one day be a restaurant mogul. He has a head start in the restaurant business waiting tables and learning from Van about how to run an operation. However old he is right now it's a great learning experience. While many people find it odd to see a "kid" working I actually think it's cool and admirable along with the skills he'll acquire that he will one day need. We all sat there when it was all said and done full, content and happy to go about the rest of our Saturday.

I've been here several times now, and the quality of the food is MUCH better than the pho place across the street (which rudely opened after Miss Saigon did, but that's a different story). Vincent always tries to be helpful and the family-owned restaurant atmosphere gives the place its own charm. I've heard they used to own Pho 78, and IMHO the pho here tastes fresher and has more depth. The Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup) is one of my favorites, and definitely hits the spot on cold or rainy days. Although there is no ham hock or blood cubes in the soup, the owners listened to their customers and took them out because of feedback they received. Personally, I like it as authentic as possible, but the soup is still flavorful and spicy. The banh mi (sandwiches) are great for take out. I missed the sandwiches that I used to get in Brooklyn until I found this place, which serves it with fresh, soft, and crispy bread and a nice range of fillings with distinct flavors. There was one time I was ravenous and ate both a pho and a banh mi (burp), and both were delicious. Definitely my favorite Vietnamese place at the moment.

You might blink and miss this place located right by the Kroger grocery and by the CHKD thrift, this small restaurant is settled in the small strip mall. The place is tastefully decorated simplistic and not overbearing. The menu is easy to read and follow and they can provide some photo options for you to see the meals. I ordered the lemongrass chicken sandwich B9 and ordered the A1 spring rolls. The food was very tasty and delicious and came out in good timing. I'm ready to come back and try the pho and other rice vermicelli dishes. They even offered me to sit try the food and then pay like a general restaurant. The little waiter (probably their son) is really cool and knows his stuff, for being so young he was quite polite. Can't wait to return!

Im writing this review in front of the restaurant. It was that good! I've just finished an order of cured pork spring rolls, a grilled pork sandwich, and half of a house special sandwich. I had to stop myself. The sandwiches are great here. I've been looking for a great vietnamese sandwich since leaving California and I finally found my new spot. The spring rolls were great. Perfectly balanced with delicious cured pork and fresh ingredients and some chopped peanuts (which i wasn't expecting but really complemented the dish well). The grilled pork sandwich has always been my personal favorite of the vietnamese style sandwiches. If you've never had one it starts with a baguette, seasoned grilled pork (of course), mayo/butter sauce, cucumber, cilantro, daikon and carrot pickle and fresh jalapeños. The peppers do pack a punch so be ready for that. The bread has great texture and flavor, the meat is delicious and all the veggies are crisp and flavorful. It all just comes together very nicely. I highly recommend this sandwich. I also tried the traditional Banh Mi sandwich which has the same veggies but is made with liver pate, vietnamese meatloaf, and head cheese. Traditional vietnamese cold cuts. I just had to get the classic to make sure it measured up to other places I've tried. And it did. If you want traditional go with the house special. But i personally, really enjoy the grilled pork. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great sandwich, and not just a vietnamese sandwich. I still need to try their soups. But for now, I'm happy i found a place to grab these awesome sandwiches. Oh, and the service is great too! Try this place, you wont be disappointed.

First of all, I resent Siri. She sent me to the Auto Zone next door instead. I had to use my human intellect to find this place. Situated in a quiet strip mall in Virginia Beach, this place is neat, clean, and bright - a nice break from most other Asian restaurants around the area. I take back what I said about judging a restaurant's worth based on the lunch rush. I came in at around noon and there were only three other customers there. But the food knock my socks off. The server and owner quicker brought water and a menu and gave me a few minutes to decide. Below is my review. Decor - 4/5 In the words of Ernest Hemingway, and yes, I do make literary references in my reviews, this was a "clean, well-lighted place." Everything was neat and in order and I have no complaints. If you want to look at paintings, go to a museum (review of museums upcoming). Food: 5/5 I would say the food is like momma made it at home, but sadly, I ordered something momma never made at home, but it was still pretty damn epic. I started off with the spring rolls, which were fresh, crunchy, had the same amount of meat and shrimp to vegetables and was a good start to the meal. My only thing was the dipping sauce had chili already squirted in it. Being sensitive to heat (bad Asian I am!), I started swearing immediately. They would do well to not premix that stuff. I also ordered the Vietnamese gumbo noodle soup, the Bun Nouc Leo, and was pleasantly surprised. Although it's not for everyone, this soup sticks to your ribs. Savory with a hint of seafood stock in it, and included large chucks of fish filets, as well as shrimp and calamari, and sliced pork. I ordered extra pork simply because I am a big meat eater, but it turns out I didn't to. The portion was huge and I had trouble finishing it. I also ordered Coke, but yeah, you've had Coke. I am not going to review it. I definitely recommend this meal and this place, though I caution you regarding spiciness. I damn near died. Service: 5/5 Out of this world. The owner was wonderfully accommodating, even bringing a fork for my noodles, probably because she knew I sucked at chopsticks, and her little boy was helping. So very kind and respectful that little boy was. He handed my credit card and receipt back to me with TWO hands. Price: 3/5 This is not a knock on them, in fact, I shouldn't even be rating this. But good food will cost you, but it's worth it in the end. Come to think of it, the price was pretty fair. I had the noodles, extra meat, a few cokes and a to go order of the sandwich for $23. Please, please remember to tip. That's a reminder I make at the end of every review. If the service sucked, talk to someone about it. But always tip. It could make or break a server's day.

I always get excited when I come here because I know I will not be disappointed. We were so happy to find this place closer to our home so we didn't need to travel so far to satisfy hubby's pho cravings (Pho 78 Timber lake shopping center). I on the other hand can't get enough of the Bánh Mì sandwiches it is sooo good!

A pretty decent place for a bowl of pho. The presentation was great! The broth was clear and flavorful; there was more than enough meat in the bowl. Bun Bo Hue was okay, doesn't look authentic but the flavor was good. The sandwiches were also good, but nothing spectacular. Overall, a good place to enjoy pho.
